I’ve been wanting to write again, but I’ve been stuck.
Today I felt slightly unstuck so I Googled and found 30 Journal Prompts To Write About During Social Distancing. It seemed like a good place to start, so here we are.
Day 1: What is something kind I can do for myself today?
I’ve been working from home and social distancing for almost a month now. During that time, we had a stomach virus run through our house as well. Life sucked there for a short while (Not that it’s 100% peachy now–I’d love to go out for a cup of coffee or something, but we’re getting there).
I’ve gotten in the habit over the last month of going to work in sweat pants or yoga pants or shorts and a teeshirt. It’s been a refreshing change from having to get dressed up and do my hair and makeup every day.
But yesterday was Easter. We already weren’t going anywhere that required dressing up. However, I decided enough was enough and put on the new cotton dress that arrived right before quarantine started–the one I had never gotten a chance to wear yet. I felt pretty all day.
So today, to beat the Monday Morning Blues, I decided to dress up again. I pulled another semi-new dress out of the closet–one with pretty pink flowers on it–and I did it. Just for me.
I’ve been in a good mood most of the day, and it’s motivated me to get some stuff done (like blog again).
I’m not saying I’m going to dress up every day (Hello, comfy yoga pants), but it helped break up the monotony for sure.
