Well I’ve finally accepted and admitted it: I’m a podcast junkie. I listen in the car on the way to and from work, and while I’m doing chores around the house. I love learning new things, and it’s an easy way to broaden my horizons when I don’t have much time on my hands.

My tastes have changed since I started listening. I tend to binge on a few shows at any given time. What’s currently in my queue?

The Birth Hour

I wish I’d found this podcast BEFORE I had my two babies, but I’m enjoying it now just the same. Each week, the host allows a mom to share her birth story. Each one is unique, and teaches me a little more about our amazing bodies and our diverse entries into motherhood.

I just started listening. Each week, this podcast features a story about couples who have been through extreme tests to their relationships and are still committed to each other. Some of my favorites so far have been the sad story of an elderly couple forced to separate so she could be eligible for life-saving Medicaid coverage, and Nascar driver Kyle Busch and his wife’s struggle with infertility.

It Could Happen Here

A grim/hopeful take on what might lead us into a modern-day second civil war, plus ways to prevent this from happening. Frightening, but enthralling at the same time.

All About Breastfeeding

Each week features lessons about all things breastfeeding, plus detailed interviews with experts in the field and other moms. This show is one of the reasons I know as much as I do about breastfeeding and pumping.

Up First

First thing each morning, this podcast appears in my feed to inform me of the top stories of the day, as curated by the folks at NPR. It’s how I stay informed about current events, in roughly 20 minutes a day.

Business Unusual

New to my lineup, and a bit of an outcast as I’m not really an entrepreneur, this show hosted by Barbara Corcoran from Shark Tank is teaching me some of the qualities and strategies that have led her to success. I’m hoping for some takeaways I can apply to any area of my life.

Be sure to let me know if I’m missing anything good, and happy podcasting!
